I just wanted to clarify a question about W_loss. To calculate this we use the equation in the task letter and calculate a new W_loss for each data point? I have found that on some of the more closed valve positions W_loss > I*V so efficiency is negative. Is that okay or is something wrong?

I noticed this as well during my calculations at the lowest compressor speed (~1600 RPM)...obviously you can't dissipate more power than the compressor draws so that data will most likely have to be thrown out. You might just point out in your report you had to throw out some of this data due to uncertainty/lack of confidence in the measurement and that the empirical correlation overpredicted power loss at these points.
